We are at the old square of Kastraki, called Mesochori. One kilometer from Kalampaka, on the way to Kastraki, opposite “Harama” tavern, turn right at the sign “To the old quarters”. Our guesthouse is within a kilometer and will make you feel being in another era.

Within walking distance you’ll see the enormous rocks, monasteries, chapels, paths small woods. Kastraki, the village, lies in the west of Meteora and is amphitheatrically built among enormous rocks. Uphill in the east part of the village you will see the old picturesque quarters of the village. Further uphill you’ll see the “Adrachti” (sprindle), named after its shape. Kastraki is an international attraction for rock climbers and hikers.

Kastaki is unique for its long tradition in folk culture.
It’s a great experience for a visitor to walk in the narrow cobbled streets of the old part of the village, to visit the chapels and monasteries.
